What I liked

Levy Lee is a masterful storyteller, and his personal accounts of facing racism throughout his life were raw, uncomfortable at times, and absolutely necessary if we’re going to heal our broken society. His powerful presence and generous spirit give me faith that we can indeed foster change. He literally gave me hope for humanity.

What I didn't like

The only thing I would suggest from a directing POV is a less casual open. Let the audience wait for it. Anticipate what’s coming. Bring the house lights up from black, step out on stage, and get the greeting and applause you deserve. Minor detail. The show was magnificent!

My overall impression

I loved every moment of Odyssey: Race and Racism, written & performed by Levy Lee! I saw multiple shows at Hollywood Fringe, and this is the one that lingered in my head and in my heart. Powerful. Enlightening.
