The show is an absolute celebration. An unapologetic and powerful story about experienced racism and positive self-affirmation. Levy Lee tells his story of strength and perseverance while living through a racially fractured America. ... full review

Finally something of incredible substance. I wish I could MAKE every WHITE PERSON in America see this show. It's so powerful it hits you on a level deeper than 99% of other theatre pieces. I could have sat mesmerized for 4 hours instead of the one. I wanted more, much more.... full review

A tremendous play. It's a revelation, a torrential stream of Levy Lee's personal memories and his encyclopedic knowledge of the history of racism and the struggle for civil rights. An almost endless list of victims and heroes that LL manages to some how turn into poetry. The very length of this list is, in itself, tragic, because it is so long, so relentless, and so far from being over. A shattering experience.... full review

Levy Lee Simon’s solo show “Odyssey, Race And Racism” was an extraordinary afternoon in the theatre. He welcomed us, his audience, and then began his tale, which revealed his own journey, as well as his beloved ancestors. I was riveted by the honesty of this brilliant storyteller, extraordinary poet and skillful actor. This is just the beginning for this incredible show, because it deserves a MUCH wider audience. It is important, it is hopeful, it is devastating, it is truth, of where we are now, where we’ve been, and where we can hope to go. So grateful that I got to see it, and will go back definitely in it’s next incarnation! ... full review

Wow! What a powerful storyteller!! I wish this was fiction, but I know it isn't and it saddens me to hear the pain and suffering that has been caused by small minded humans in our great country. I'm going to try and be optimistic about our future, TOGETHER, and I'm happy there are voices like Levy Lee to keep us all accountable. Bravo Levy Lee, Bravo!! (Or is it "Brava"!!?? See this show!!... full review

I was so inspired by Levy Lee’s brilliant one-man show I interviewed him for my BetteDangerous.com Substack community. Here is an excerpt from that interview: “Racism is an illness, but it’s an illness that can be cured. It lies in the heart, but hearts can be changed, I believe that.”—Levy Lee Simon That line for me sums up the power of the performance but also the hope that we can see our way to a better future by acknowledging the failings of our past and present.
