Levy Lee is a muse — I saw the show twice and wanted to go back a third time… his storytelling is so honest and his poetry stays with you. He doesn’t sugarcoat reality — it’s the honesty of his odyssey that stays with me.
What I didn't like
It’s perfect.
My overall impression
I was so inspired by Levy Lee’s brilliant one-man show I interviewed him for my BetteDangerous.com Substack community. Here is an excerpt from that interview:
“Racism is an illness, but it’s an illness that can be cured. It lies in the heart, but hearts can be changed, I believe that.”—Levy Lee Simon
That line for me sums up the power of the performance but also the hope that we can see our way to a better future by acknowledging the failings of our past and present.
