Seeing such an ambitious, complex and nuanced piece like this pulled off the way it was. Fabulous direction. Inspiring and courageous work!
What I didn't like
More of a compliment than criticism: The actors pulled off the shifts from their character to writer personas so well that (perhaps) no other device was needed to signal the change.
My overall impression
Brilliantly weaves an engaging narrative that probes the depths of friendship, the nuances of race and sexual orientation, and the arresting reality of personal prejudices. This fabulously written play explores divergent perspectives that sit beneath the surface of our relationships. Pasha McKenley and Michael Mullen are electric – lighting up the stage in every scene, pulling off very challenging turns with aplomb, and making every moment authentic and relatable. – A highly committed and talented cast and crew that deserve big kudos at The Fringe. Go see it!
