What struck me the most was the honesty with which Every Day She Rose tackled the issues it addressed. The play fearlessly confronts police brutality, hate crimes, misogynoir, gun violence, and other deeply troubling aspects of our society. It’s a raw and unapologetic exploration of the realities faced by marginalized communities, and it left me feeling both empowered and emotionally moved.
What I didn't like
It needs to be longer!!!
My overall impression
Every Day She Rose is an absolute tour de force that left me in awe from start to finish. As a black female audience member, I was immediately drawn to the powerful portrayal of the black female character, Cathy-Ann. The skillful acting brought her to life in a way that made me feel seen and understood on a deeply personal level. The seamless transitions between the actors portraying both the writers and the subject matter were nothing short of remarkable, adding an extra layer of complexity to the narrative.
