This show has so much good going on. Clowning that welcomes you and makes you uncomfortable. Alex’s character is lovable immediately with a pathos that i worried she wasn’t aware of. Like a family member you worry about. In my show, audience members were protective of her. The show is very fun! And dark. John Waters comes to mind. ... full review

Alex is a gifted performer who gets into character and has no reservations about what she does. It's unique, odd, hilarious, and possesses a deep melancholy at its core. This show (among the hundreds at Fringe) is one you will remember. ... full review

A dinner party that slowly descends into madness. Alex Kern as Cynthia is such a fascinating character study into the mind of a hostess with clearly alot on her plate. She is funny, vulnerable, and so incredibly talented. She had full control of the room (which is impressive given that it was sold-out). Her audience interactions were hilarious and weird. Mildly uncomfortable but still fun to watch. By far, however, my favorite part was the descent into madness. I really enjoyed the use of lighting and improv in this show. The slow unhinged-ness of it all is exactly why this is a must see. What starts off as a simple bit of awkwardness slowly transforms into horror theater. ... full review

I went in not knowing what to expect and I left being blown away. I thought it was brilliant. Alex's Cynthia creation reminded me of a character from a Tennessee Williams play; someone oblivious to the real world and who fancies herself to be socially dynamic when in fact she is lonely, awkward, and desperate to connect with another. I loved the audience interaction and improv and it showed Alex's quick wit. This has been a show I recommend to people. ... full review

Alex commands the stage in a way that you can only love her, there’s really no other option. Her talent embodies Cynthia so well that you forget you are watching a show and instead are immersed in Cynthia’s world and you just want to be her friend. Alex is hilarious, bringing the audience in, to have a ball and a lot of laughs, all while we are still relating to this character and seeing what’s also happening underneath the surface. So many emotions. So much fun. So much talent. All in one black box. ... full review

This was the best character-based improv with audience members I’ve seen. I was laughing from before she even appears on stage. The show pushes the envelope of audience discomfort but never crossed the line where I felt unsafe or picked on. I highly recommend it and I’ll go see whatever Alex does next.... full review
