The script is unpredictable, wildly imaginative, hilarious, over-the-top and yet grounded and touching and human. There’s no way it should work.
But it does.
Why? because of the perfect performances.
Carrie Keranen and Peter Fluet are, lets be honest, world class talents. They inhabit their roles completely (as usual) and their comic timing is perfect. The characters and the situation they are in are both INSANE and yet I felt deeply for them as humans. I laughed my head off and cried at the end. I’m getting choked up thinking of the ending. I am so glad I got to see this.
Everyone else in the cast is excellent. Jessie Bias is an amazing standout as Tiffany. It’s a tightrope of a role that she does triple cartwheels on.
What I didn't like
The transitions could be smoothed out in a larger production.
There were a couple of line flubs.
It bothered me that Del didn’t unbutton his jacket when he sat down.
I wanted it to go on longer.
My overall impression
This show is brilliant and hilarious and touching.
