This show was fully and absolutely brilliant. It was somehow both down-to-earth and completely fantastical, both over-the-top and deeply personal. Josiah is razor-sharp, and transitions between characters with impressive specificity. This is a solo show, but it feels impossible that it is being performed by only one person. I'm going to be thinking about this show for a long time. it is an impressive theatrical feat and truly one of my favorite performances I've seen in recent history. ...

Flayed is a must-see show. As simple as that. I went in not knowing much more than it was a one-man play about a young pastor coming to terms with his sexuality. What I got was a hilarious, inventive and heartbreakingly poignant trip. Josiah commands the stage and is in utter-control of the audience (whom he employs throughout the show with often hilarious results!). It is so honest and true and painful. And beautiful. "Flayed" holds up a mirror to contemporary "evangelical Christianity" and the reflection is not very flattering. Josiah is a tour-de-force and "Flayed" is really something special....

A thoroughly entertaining show that is as thoughtful as it is zany. Josiah Blount’s characters are all unique, hilarious and purposeful. The journey he takes you on culminates in a heartfelt climax that I found quite moving. Not to be missed....

Genuinely the best piece of theatre I've seen in a very long time. I cannot stress enough how much everyone needs to see Flayed. I was laughing so hard, had me hooked the entire time and left me hooting and hollering to all of Los Angeles about how they NEED to see this show. Josiah is so beyond talented and I'm honored to have gotten to experience this performance. ...

Flayed is hilarious and thought provoking. Josiah does an outstanding job and takes you on a wild ride from the minute the lights go down. From the writing, to the many specific characters Josiah portrays, lighting and sound...and even clown work, this show is a must see. I hope many more people get to see Josiah in FLAYED! ...

I left with tears in my eyes and a belly sore from laughing. Josiah expertly bounces between off-the-wall silliness, creative engagement with the audience and astounding vulnerability. He tells a story entirely full of surprises, I never saw what was coming next, it was so refreshing. I walked away with so much to reflect on, really one of the best shows I’ve seen in years. I encourage everybody to see this!!...

Depth and heart but also a total romp. Josiah is a gifted performer and it shows in this ambitious piece! Also, he's very sexy in a blonde wig. ...

I was moved to tears over the humorous way the heart-wrenching journey of healing from religious damnation to self-acceptance was shared. Josiah creatively, hysterically & vulnerably shared his whole freakin soul with us. I left feeling inspired to take on any endeavor. Self-acceptance & wholeness within ourselves is where it's at. I am so grateful he never gave up on self-love & was brave enough to share himself with us!...
