About the Project
Chard Gonzalez Dance Theatre presents “Barbara of Seville,” a hilarious dance opera set in the future. The story revolves around the life of Barbara, a clumsy yet ambitious dancer who dreams of becoming a famous performer. However, Barbara’s path to stardom is full of obstacles, including her strict father who disapproves of her passion for dancing, and a rival dancer who is determined to sabotage her career.
Throughout the show, the audience is treated to a spectacle of colorful costumes, lively music, and energetic dancing as Barbara starts to overcome her challenges. The dance opera also features a host of eccentric characters, including a flamboyant dance instructor, a clueless music producer, and a stoic dance partner with who Barbara is madly in love, all adding to the comedic charm of the production.
“Barbara of Seville” is a delightful and entertaining tale of following one’s dreams, embracing one’s passion, and overcoming the odds.
