I loved the way Nick mixed humor with the seriousness of the topics. Nick’s impressions of the the weird characters he came in contact with — the low-lifes, those were great.
What I didn't like
What I didn’t like? Not much—this show was real!
My overall impression
Funny, dark and disturbing, Nick Pupo’s “Addicted” is a coming of age story that has it all, innocence, grade school crushes, tomfoolery, love and friendship. As adolescence sets in, things get serious, lust, lies, substance and seduction temp the soul. Nick does an amazing job weaving these stories, mixing humor with serious topics and suspenseful situations. This show is “The Basketball Diaries” meets “Panic In Needle Park” for a new generation. I’m just glad Nick made it out alive to tell these tales. I would love to see these narratives expanded upon in the written word. Where is Penguin Random-House when you need them??—I’m recommending to as many people I see at Fringe.
