What I liked
The sheer acrobatic skill of the performers plus the playful, welcoming relationship with the audience. There was a constant sense of fun and uplift throughout the piece. I also liked the assignment of simple rhythms to the audience, allowing us to participate from time to time.
What I didn't like
In the particular performance that I saw, everyone didn’t always feel tightly together. The solo numbers and duets tended to be better executed than the ensemble moments. When the group was in the pocket the effect was electrifying. I wish the entire performance could have been like that.
My overall impression
A charming mix of tap dance, mime, clowning, live looping, (non-traumatizing) audience participation, and dazzling group and solo percussion with mundane objects, orchestral drums, and the human body.
