The show is a sparklingly compaction of some of Parker’s best wit along with a wonderful sense of her as a person and her relationships. The conceit of having Parker talk to an unseen assistant editor in preparation for a new compilation of work really works well and serves to give the piece grounding and focus. Margot Avery has a beautiful and understated interpretation of the legendary character, which is both refreshing and delightful.
What I didn't like
The piece lacks conflict or stakes, but at under and hour, it bubbles along quite nicely despite this. Champaign with some caviar on a toast point, but no dinner.
My overall impression
A delightful time with a literary legend. Short, sweet, and funny!
