Truly loved the production design and costumes. The acting was exceptional. The theater’s intimacy only enhanced the sense that we were on the spot as it all unfolded. Putting Robert in the audience made that even more palpable.
What I didn't like
Tiny thing, but the eye line for annoyance at the dog was off from the source of the sound. Again tiny space intimate space so that sensitive sound orientation was very specific and the eye orientation was off. I would correct that in the soho house run.
My overall impression
Visually they achieved a great look in the most stripped down black box space. The acting was powerful, fusing cunning insights and vulnerability to lull the audience into a sense that they knew these people only to explode that comfort with shocking truths and bitter nostalgia. It was a great piece of theater.
