What I liked
Lots of layers to unpack here. Probably worth multiple viewings as you settle into the brilliantly unique tone and perspective to make discoveries about the poignant story at its core.
What I didn't like
I don’t know that it would improve it, because the story is told in such an interesting way, but maybe signposting some of the structure could help those who don’t key in immediately to the profoundly singular tone. Truly a sui generis kind of show!
My overall impression
A surprisingly avant-garde, poignant, and charming performance by Ian as he leads you down a journey into history as filtered through his psyche. Felt like a Charlie Kaufman kind of experience. Well done.
