The writing was wide-ranging in tone and style and the actor uses movement effectively to embody the characters. Avoiding an overly presentational or surface style, LeBarron’s strong performance ultimately ties together the issues of marginalization and self-value in unexpected ways, uncovering the relevance of these inhuman characters for himself. The play ultimately offers us a subtle question … how are the fringe people around us locked in their stories and how do we make space for them?
What I didn't like
Nothing – it’s wonderful
My overall impression
It was a powerful, raw piece that uses mythological vignettes to explore how we see ourselves as human beings and the state of being an outsider. It’s surprising and provocative and fringe theatre at its best – don’t miss it!
