What I liked

We unlocked the secret ending!! Last Call Team members let us know that our audience was responsible for setting into motion a very rare ending to the story, and (no spoilers!) we could not have guessed how the night would end. I aligned myself with the Velvet Curtain but proceeded through the night as if I was on everyone’s side, and I definitely enjoyed how that play style helped me stay in the know about all sorts of happenings unfolding across the Three Clubs.

What I didn't like

You never know when an audience member is here for their first immersive show—I would love to see more instructions on “how to play,” so that newcomers can feel less lost/overwhelmed by all the possibilities. (My plus one was grateful to have a veteran steering our ship!) It’s also the nature of the beast that one can’t witness all the potential chaos in a single setting, but I wonder if there’s a way to help audience members who linger fill in some of the gaps from their experience?

My overall impression

I’ve been to a few Last Call shows before, and the showing I attended on Masked Monday was definitely one of my most memorable. I didn’t know if I would enjoy the theme—1920s Mafia is hardly my bread and butter—but I was pleasantly surprised to find that being brought into a game of blackmail, secrets, and potential murder is a lot of fun, no matter the setting!
