“experimental, highly visual, visceral and emotional release”
-New Haven Arts Paper

Join us for the West Coast premiere of fuckin loud, a solo choreopoem written & performed by m. imani west and directed by Jackeline Torres Cortès. Playwright, poet and performer, Ntozake Shange defined a choreopoem as a blend of poetry, storytelling, music, and dance.

fuckin loud is a solo choreopoem that spirals through the mind of a Black trans non-binary artist at their wit’s end. In this 55 minute performance, the Artist is haunted by thoughts and memories that are…ain’t…is their own. When their safest place turns sour, they fight to find themselves amongst the chaos. A riot of thoughts, movement, cinema and sound that the New Haven Arts Paper described as “poetic and daring”.
