What I liked

I just enjoyed the rhythm and the existential musings. Kira is just an incredible performer. I feel like this play always existed in a way. Like she drew alot on her childhood for stories and i couldn’t help but feel like this was always supposed to happen. She gets very dark and honest about death. More honest than I was expecting. But I enjoyed the frankness because she touches on subjects that I just feel like people don’t normally talk about. How things from your childhood that you “should’ve” gotten over are still very integral to your identity. How there’s plenty of “weird” experiences that you had as a child that you probably were too young for. Kira speaks in a very stream-of-consciousness type of way but this all felt like a lifetime of buildup. Maybe it’s just me but i appreciate the catharsis of it all. I felt like I was watching someone process their whole life on stage and I was captivated by healing/therapy/everything that went into making such a raw performance.

My overall impression

This was such a full force existential panic disguised as a comedy show. I laughed hard at the majority of jokes and I really appreciated how Kira spoke. In the sense that this was so poetic in its rhythm. There’s a line she has about how atheists’ talk to angels that I still think about. This performance was just full of authenticity and vulnerability. I enjoyed Kira’s bravery in admitting that she wasn’t always the good guy. She wasn’t always the hero in other people’s story and I appreciated that honesty. Kira was captivating to watch and i commend her strength. Physical strength because that handstand was insane. This was just an hour of pure raw unadulterated honesty. In general Kira is a powerhouse with a lot to say and I was hanging on every word.
