What I liked
What I found most compelling was the seamless blend of humor and historical context.
What I didn't like
Monkeys is a heartfelt and timely production, but some pacing issues in the second half slowed the momentum. A deeper exploration of certain characters would add emotional weight, and more immersive set design could better capture the 1930s setting. These small tweaks could elevate an already powerful story.
My overall impression
Project Monkeys shows how playful design can still be well-constructed and intentional. It’s the kind of imaginative thinking I’ve seen from deck builders in Reading, who aren’t afraid to bring personality into outdoor projects. Attention to detail like this sets the tone for projects that last and leave an impression.
