Whose story is it, and who has a right to tell it? Where does imagination, empathy, and a desire to do right end, and cultural appropriation begin? Does God exist? And if He/She does, do they have a plan for us? Where does talent come from? Are our lives preordained? These are just some of the questions explored when a white playwright asks a Black playwright to take credit for a play he wrote about a Black family so that he can get it produced.
