The performer is extremely likeable – almost infinitely patient with her inner child, but not perfect. I admire her willingness to show us where she’s failed as well as where she triumphed.
Pacing is beautiful, with peaks and valleys, shifts in tone handled expertly by both performers.
There is some audience interaction, though I don’t know if I’d call it audience interaction – it was more than that. The performer is not afraid to get intimate with audience members – sometimes reciting apologies directly to a person in the front row. At one point, I held hands with the people sitting next to me in prayer.
What I didn't like
Nothing! Bravo!
My overall impression
Vulnerable storytelling at its finest, with a unique and personal POV. I left the show with compassion for humankind in the face of our pitfalls and a framed picture of the performer’s school photo (no, really).
