I was partial to the scenes in which our Actor/Writer had to deal with their most intrusive thoughts, as represented by the tiktok voice — the tone and inflection of which is so silly and unserious, juxtaposed to the cynical and destructive word content of their comments and demands.
I also enjoyed the looseness with which the play began and ended i.e the in-media-res private phone call between the star and their girlfriend which we’re privvy to as we walk into the theatre.
What I didn't like
Nothing that any of the brilliant makers of this piece won’t resolve on their own.
My overall impression
This is a wonderfully imaginative show from front to back. Variety show-esque with a lot going on, the show still maintains a potent thematic through line surrounding the hopes and promises of our twenties. I’m eager to see the iterations of this show to come.
