I could truly go on and on. The specificity of the setting and the given circumstances, the pacing and tempo, the set design, the costume design, the pre-show, the intimacy of the performance in a back box theater— I could seriously write an essay about it. Maybe I will.
What I didn't like
I have truly no complaint other than being upset that I couldn’t bring everyone I know to see this show due to it having a completely sold out run. Which, frankly, is a very cool complaint to have. Maybe consider putting it on again? Let me know if you wanna make that happen I guess!
My overall impression
This solo show is an example of theatrical genius. Jill Young effortlessly inspires uproarious laughter and then teases the audience back down to earth with the promise of empathy and human connection. I’d watch this show over and over again if I could.
