The direction was terrific and the natural acting was really a joy to watch. Pulled us in and it was impossible to not like the solo performer. I do not know Jill but feel that I certainly know her through her character.
What I didn't like
While I REALLY enjoyed the characterization of the little kid… not sure how that all worked in my mind. NOTCRITICIZING at all because I enjoyed it but took me away from the rest of the show. It FIT but thinking maybe more actual Shakespeare as the final moments of the earth are upon us. For instance the tomorrow and tomorrow speech could have been a comment on the moment. Why are we here? What does it all mean? Does it signify nothing? Our teacher character saying that speech may have worked better than the “created kid” character. Something to perhaps play with in future versions. And the kid mis-memorized (a wrong word was spoken) in that speech and because it is so well known it would probably be good for “him” to get it dead letter perfect. I hope that makes sense. NOT a super negative but I think that in the moment of her frantic world ending along with her relationship ending - all the kids are gone but she is still stuck with us as the audience there sharing our last hour on earth - perhaps she comments on life with some more Macbeth? Not sure if that is even a helpful comment. But there you go.
My overall impression
What a terrific good time! The world was ending but it was a blast. Go figure!
