What I liked

Great characters and performances, a compelling and meaningful story, and thoughtful reflection on queer history.

What I didn't like

I have no idea which characters were real and which were fictionalized, I would love the opportunity to learn more about that as an audience member—I worried that the gay psychiatrist who first spoke out ended up disappearing as a character after his big moment and would have loved closure for him, but of course history goes as history went.

My overall impression

An important piece of theater that I was grateful to have seen — as a younger member of the alphabet mafia, the opportunity to see how the generations before have beaten oppressive systems felt very needed in this tumultuous political moment. Thank you for telling this story right now. We are not sick, and we do not want to be cured.
