What I liked

The pleading with divine intervention when life feels like it is breaking you down was delivered so sincerely that it’s impossible not to relate/sympathize with her.

I also loved every phone call with her mother. They were hilarious, touching, and beautiful.

What I didn't like

Tired of this section, tbh.

My overall impression

“Is Krishna There?” parallels Lauren’s journey of hope lost and regained with hindustani legend Begum Akhtar as they struggle with cultural and familial expectations. What really stands out here is Lauren’s vibrant stage presence and next level musicality. The voice on this woman is INCREDIBLE! I have never heard a live operatic voice like that before, and it blew me away.
