What I liked

“Heartfelt performance” only scratches the surface. Curet is a multidisciplinary powerhouse in whose eyes I witnessed sadistic joy and deep pools of despair. Vulnerable, strong, and dripping with gratitude, Lauren is nothing short of captivating. And when she sings, prepare your heart, because she broke mine into a thousand pieces from its sheer beauty. My eyes leaked. A lot.

Beautiful eye candy, clever light/sound design, heart resonating music and Indian sweets make this show a feast for the senses.

What I didn't like

This show is labeled in the program as a work in progress and intended to be a 3 person show. I wish it would have been; perhaps the script and direction would not have felt so meandering as the piece lacked a certain clarity/cohesiveness. With so many practical props, I question why the most important one was mimed.

Transitions last a lifetime and halt the flow, though it was fun to watch a chair shadow dance.

My overall impression

A feast for the senses with heart breaking song. While the show doesn’t stand on its feet yet, Lauren Curet does. Curet is a mesmerizing force with many gifts to share.
