My overall impression
What starts out as a very specific situation, under Majd’s great writing and pitch-perfect delivery, becomes a universal statement of humanity. How we’re cast in certain (restricting) roles by family and society, and how we might eliminate the obstacles to become who we need/were born to be. The great thing about Majd’s show is that even when his family is horrifically against him, his natural compassion and honest belief in their essential goodness, wins out, and he helps them becomes the people they need to be too. It’s a hard grueling desperate battle, but certainly one worth taking with this exceptional and very likable performer.
