What I liked

The cast as a whole did an amazing job with stand out performances by Catherine ‘Cat’ Healy, Staci Rodrigues, Rome Da Luce, Teresa Isles Beardsley and even the Director, Jesse Feldberg, who was filling in for the absent lead. The set was simple, which I can appreciate. The direction overall felt natural and organic. (Even with all of its dialogue challenges)

What I didn't like

The writing. The dialogue seemed to drag on and on without pushing the story forward in a meaningful way. After the play I inquired about the absent lead actor and was informed that everyone that had been cast as Domino found the poorly written dialogue impossible. Apparently they went through several leads due to this issue. It’s really too bad because the play has some potential.

My overall impression

Domino Is Down aimed to please but missed the mark.

Domino Is Down, written by “Amateur First-Time Playwright” Mitchell Reiter, must have been quite challenging for Director Jesse Feldberg and cast. When looking at the positive reviews I’m wondering if we all watched the same play. I am however going to give it a “Pretty Good” rating due to the performances and direction. Would I sit through it again? No.
