The insurrectionists are of course particularly ripe targets and get their deserved share of derision, but there is also some laughs poked at the liberals and some humanizing of the insurrectionists as deeply flawed human beings in pain with more than their share of problems that made them easy to manipulate as pawns in a larger political game.
What I didn't like
The poignant note the play ended on was so effective it makes me wonder if there aren’t other spots in the play where similar notes of seriousness could break up the comedy.
My overall impression
A delightfully absurd comedy about a disturbing but equally absurd event in our recent political history.
