Listen up. Mitchell puts on the consistently best and unique one-person shows at Fringe: always quality, always engaging, always entertaining. But he does more in TOUGHEST. In embodying and telling the fascinating story of Mike Royko, he not only gives a great history lesson, but he is grounded and connected in a new way. Instead of a Mark Twain style characterization, Mitchell IS Royko. Because Royko was us. The best of us. And so is Mitchell. See this. It’ll be one of the best things at Fringe. ... full review

Phenomenal. From second one I was hooked. I thoroughly enjoyed this entertaining piece about a journalist (Mike Royco) who reported on so many historical moments. Absolutely iconic. His words on subjects from the 1960s-90s ring just as true today. Feels timely - especially all the 1968 references. The parallels were astounding at times. The show was funny, political, sweet and sentimental. It reminded me a bit of Trumbo. (That's a compliment!) ... full review

Mitchell Biscchop is a tour-de-force in this one-man show about newspaper columnist, Mike Royko. Poignant and heartfelt, his storytelling keeps you wanting more and while the story happened decades ago, it feels very current. Not only is the show entertaining, it also gives great historical context to the columns that Bisschop uses as the throughline of the piece, weaving multiple columns together effortlessly and with a deft stroke of humanity throughout.... full review

Just an absolute accomplishment. Mitch does a wonderful job telling gritty grimy stories through three characters for 90 minutes and it's engaging every moment. The video clips intermingle smoothly with his discussions. The production of this show is all around excellent. It's a top notch show that I recommend to anyone who happens to be a columnist for a Chicago paper in the 1970s. ... full review

What a rich part of American history told through the eyes of a journalist as the eyes of a city, the city of Chicago. This was such a joy to watch, and the historian in me was screaming for more! And the acting sucked me right in; fantastic story-telling.... full review
