An absolute gem….storytelling at its best…explores universal themes of love and relationships (good and bad) and the all too familiar challenge of learning how to love oneself. While told through the eyes of a young woman, the story will resonate with a wide audience. Brilliant writing and sublime acting - tender, powerful and vulnerable all at the same time. It was something truly special to watch - it felt like being on the precipice of something magic…....

In the Tides of Love is a delicate kiss of affirmation that despite how impressionable our minds are, and how crushable our hearts, there is wisdom to be found in romance. Wearing an aching heart on her sleeve, Alex Varvar Punch draws you in with a poetic stream of consciousness that dances with the divinity and naïveté that is young love.
She introduces you to the most intimate parts of her mind, body, and soul, only for you to discover (for some while silently sobbing) that her experience may not be too different from your own. Alex Punch is an intoxicating performer, with a fierce yet softened stage presence that captures your attention entirely. Lyricism is Punch’s second nature, and her writing drips with profound truths about self-l...

I feel honoured to have witnessed this piece on stage. To extrapolate meaning from lived experiences, and then order them so artistically, and in such a way that tells audience members that they are not alone, is no easy feat. Alex’s ability to do this touched me at my core. ...

Through her own unique stories and experiences, Alex engulfs each audience member with the sentiment that they are not alone in a world of confusing, promising, and disappointing relationships. There are moments of laughter, sorrow, hopefulness. Her writing is inspiring and her presence on stage is captivating. Navigating relationships, both romantic and platonic, is not always easy. Alex validates all feelings of regret and success and encourages individuals to forgive themselves for their past. I’m excited to see what Alex does next and look forward to hearing more of her perspective on this world. ...

In doing so, she conects deeply with the audience as she displays the commonalities of the female experience through her own beautiful analysis of life, love, and self. It was truly amazing. ...

First and foremost, Alex is an observer. As she meditates on her own past trials with love and relationships, she approaches herself with the same loving forgiveness and understanding as when she approaches others—gracefully. With striking vulnerability, she interacts with the audience in a way that seems two-sided, almost conversational; an onstage presence that makes you feel individually seen and heard. She clearly articulates her journey of finding self-love, then losing it, then finding it all over again, offering a perspective that is both deeply personal yet universal in nature.
In the Tides of Love is a gift to any and all viewers, packed with poignant reflections on love and self-worth, humor-filled moments of sheer relatability...
