The show within the show within the show added an energy to a very familiar play, and became the central story earning our emotional investment. It was clear that the cast themselves were having tons of fun with the material, and that fed the audience creating a great energy for live theater and shined a spotlight on everyone’s inner theater nerd.
What I didn't like
Honestly, it’s great. Bravo.
My overall impression
A really clever deconstruction and reinterpretation of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM that has elements of POINTBREAKLIVE and sprinklings of immersive theater, helped by having more than a few true stars in the cast. The sort of show I could see having a sustained run in town with enough buzz (hopefully at The Three Clubs, which was a perfect setting).
