What I liked

The vocal performances are outstanding, and the use of found materials to make the set pieces is a stroke of Fringe genius.

What I didn't like

The lyrics are slightly lesser in caliber than the dialogue or score, and could stand to be more fantastical. (Though as a professional lyricist myself, my standards are quite high.)

My overall impression

Audiences may associate Lovecraft with horror, but this adaptation musical is all comedy, fantasy, and dazzling vocal performances.
