What I liked
There were a lot of fun interactions between the moms, the dads, the kids, etc. They did a delicate job of handling the gun and making the audience comfortable, especially during these sensitive times. The doubling of the 70s dad with the patient was brilliant and well done. Lots of humor throughout; I found myself laughing a lot.
What I didn't like
Some of the costuming choices were strange. The 70s daughter was in a hippie outfit I could find on amazon and the 70s mom’s dress and shoes seemed too modern.
The gun was discovered by Manny but then the 2021 son suddenly has it again in the next scene. The confetti bomb didn’t quite work but I got the gist after a while.
Sometimes the characters voices weren’t unique, sounding like one voice from the playwright, but overall it’s an important piece that, with a few script edits here and there, it could be a very powerful play.
My overall impression
Very cool concept! Really enjoyed the two generations’ dialogue with each other on how society truly hasn’t changed too much, and how much work is left to be done in all aspects.
