FANTASYS SNICKER uncertified reviewer June 01, 2023
This play is outstanding, significant, and couldn't come at a better moment. It investigates how American teenagers' sense of alienation, loneliness, and isolation contribute to these terrible school shootings free games. However, it's not a melancholy play. It is imaginative, uplifting, and full of hope. Bring your teenagers to this play if you only see one during the Fringe.... full review

All American by Lynn Grant Beck proved to be a memorable and delightful night of theater. The ensemble cast delivered strong performances, and brought us immediately into their world. I was especially blown away by the character of Sophia who halfway through the show delivers a powerful monologue that has stayed with me. The play is told across timelines, and Beck’s technique of navigating the time warps is both creative and insightful. The production is fast-paced, yet flows effortlessly from one era to another. Beck’s writing has us riveted one moment and giggling the next. It was a wonderful ride! ... full review

My feedback is from a writer’s point of view and a dancer’s perspective regarding performers’ use of space. I do not have the experience to give feedback on the acting or directing. The play All America, written and produced by Lynn Grant Beck and directed by Michael Strauss was beautifully written. The concept of having two families from contrasting times was imaginative. It reminded me of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Fall of the House of Usher. The play had something eerie that did not come to fruition. The suspense lingered throughout the play. This air of suspense reminded me of Poe and Alfred Hitchcock’s work. Again, the writing was excellent. ... full review

All American touched upon ALL the major issues that our society faces today in a creative, fun and poignant way. The story weaves two families from different eras in a unique and imaginative way (no spoilers!). It makes you laugh, cry and think. The stage direction and set design was well done for the small space. The actors were surprisingly excellent and brought to life the gifted, insightful and highly entertaining script by Lynn Beck. It was a delightful treat and I would highly recommend it to everyone! Bravo/brava All American for filling a hole in the hearts of all Americans, pun intended.... full review

I enjoyed watching this production. The storyline juxtaposing 2 families from 2 different timelines shined light on the differences in family dynamics, culture, and technology over the past 50 years while also showing the common ground they shared. Their interactions across time ultimately create transformation in both families individually and as units.... full review
