What I liked

I really loved the performances of the sisters in this piece. They felt so different and lived-in. Their physicality worked really well between each other, especially when they fight and argue. The play did a great job finding the quiet moments between the waves of conflict. A well-directed piece.

What I didn't like

There were moments when I wished the stage had more lighting on the edges of the stage. Some performance moments were lost because an actor’s face was cast in shadow.

My overall impression

A compelling and complicated portrayal of a fraught relationship between sisters. The intersection of the very grounded and material struggles between the sisters with the more folkloric magical realism was really special.
