What I liked
The tone. Humor, warmth and joy come across in spades, as does the pain, humiliation, hurt, and anger of being seen by others in only a certain way and being excluded from events and activities that many people don’t even think twice about. These strong and talented women wrote and performed this piece, which really creates powerful impact!
The over all meaning that they have brought to their life experiences ultimately triumphs. This show creates a unifying, universal bond that we have all known and felt when others look at us in a certain way and we yearn to be seen fully, not just as ….
What I didn't like
The video playback sound system in the theater is weak. (Muted and fuzzy)
My overall impression
This show is a real winner! So much heart, talent and raw emotion will surely keep you on the edge of your seats. I was fully engaged from the first moment as the dynamic team of Amanda Lynne and Vejune took us on a very well-written and illuminating journey towards light, love and full acceptance of who we are in the bodies that we have.
Their amazing performances and stories force us to examine our own viewpoints and challenge us to actively participate in movement away from the judgement , bias, and shame that often exists in a fat-phobic world.
