The show makes excellent points about the insidiousness of the billion dollar diet industry that boasts a 95 failure rate when it comes to producing sustainable weight loss and somehow shifts all of the blame to the consumer and not the wildly ineffective products it pedals. Also poignant and all too recognizable for me personally was the idea that when we decline to be photographed because we’re feeling self conscious, we deprive our families of a complete visual history of who we are, and the people who truly love us, are the last people who judge us by our weight, and accept us for who we truly are.
What I didn't like
I would love to see this show do some cross promoting with Too Big For Her Britches, another show with a similar theme. Both are excellent shows, with very different approaches, and would compliment each other very well. Perhaps a discount code that could be used when you buy tickets to both?
My overall impression
An inspiring show about overcoming the constant barrage of fat shaming messages in our society and learning to love yourself and your body at whatever size you happen to be.
