The show was a beautiful, concise exploration of trans people that weren't defined by their transition or tragedy. Despite being trans myself, I had not heard of any of the elders that were represented, but at no point did this feel like a dry history lesson....

This was an important piece of theater. In addition, it was an entertaining show with solid acting and direction. But its greatest importances lies in the fact that it brings to light a hidden history of this country: the roles played by transgender individuals, who are often ignored at best and discriminated against at worst.
The fact that the vignettes were based on true stories made the piece even stronger, and the fact that the actors had a hand in choosing and researching the stories they portrayed allowed the cast to fully inhabit the roles they played.

This was my first time ever seeing trans masculine people in media/art. The play changed my psyche and my life, made me feel that I’m not crazy for living my truth. It was especially powerful to hear the stories of trans masculine historical figures. Representation truly is everything. Thank you for making this happen. ...

A deeply emotional, powerful show. Trans historical figures are brought to the stage with such immediacy and personality by an incredibly skilled cast. The show performs a valuable service by spotlighting these oft-forgotten people, but never forgets to move and entertain in the process; I found myself inspired, moved to laughter, and moved to tears, at various points throughout. It's a profound and worthwhile experience for trans attendees like myself, and cis attendees alike. ...

A gorgeous cast of exceptional actors clearly led by an equally exceptional director. Seeing an entirely transgender performance, and sharing our histories was an enriching experience. The fact the actors wrote their monologues about their respective characters made this a rich performance to watch. ...
