Moving, surprising, entertaining, and enlightening. The stories of six remarkable but relatively unknown historical figures are told by six actors. The common thread is that all of them--subjects and actors--are trans, which is somehow simultaneously fundamental and also almost incidental. The stories are about courage and embracing being oneself while facing challenges that I and other cisgendered folks simply never encounter. RUN, do not walk, to go see this show. Especially if you are trans. I was on the verge of tears for more than half of it and left with a tear-stained mask. Some of my favorite vignettes were Cody Sloan's portrayal of AIDS activist Lou Sullivan and Alexia Jasmene playing the author and biographer Dawn Langley Simmons. Avi Roque gave an especially standout performance as Amelio Robles Ávila. Beautifully executed and paced, this was a quick-moving show injected with a lot of humor and the occasional musical interlude. ... full review

My favorite black box show of the year!! A very well-curated and diversely integrated flow of stories paying homage to trans figures throughout the history of North America. Congrats to the Director, Producer and all the actors on an amazing performance. ... full review
