I enjoyed the immersive qualities of the show as the audience was invited to both examine ourselves and the society that we have helped create throughout the experience. I loved how the programs included the poetry that was presented as well as doubled as mini-journals. The writing prompts within the pamphlets encouraged the viewers to walk away from the show ready to enact positive internal and external change, which I thought was amazing.
What I didn't like
I would have liked for the audience to be prepared in some sort of way for the audience participation poetry sharing section at the end, perhaps through the fringe message prior to the show. I believe many of us simply assumed that the people that shared their poetry were planted in the audience as that had been the set-up of the show from the beginning.
My overall impression
“Terraforming Marginalized Voices” was an inspiring and uplifting work of art. The variety of poets allowed for the multiplicity of perspectives to be shown in a tangible and beautiful way. The overall message of unity and overcoming was powerful.
