What I liked
Teruko is a true original both onstage and off, who has been shaped along the way by some of the best and worst aspects of both Japanese and American culture to become a unique presence, whose bubbly personality is infectious, and talent is undeniable. A haunting one woman show that makes you laugh, makes you think, and ultimately inspires.
What I didn't like
Nothing comes to mind.
My overall impression
A powerfully honest and emotionally brave autobiographical show that is alternately hilarious, poignant, and at times, horrifying. The tumultous life story to date of a young japanese women who has overcome some truly terrible hurdles to pursue her dreams, and found a way to be happy despite her oftentimes painful past.
