The word Bravery is thrown around a lot these days in theatre, but this production is perhaps the Bravest thing I have seen on stage. Teruko is unabashedly honest, hilarious, and just downright moving in her solo show. She proves herself as not only a necessary presence in the theatre, but also a necessary presence in the world. It begins with Teruko lying in the dark. She just called 911. She needs help. Then we went through her life journey, from being a super sexy performer in kindergarten to her stint as a dominatrix, to marrying the penguin from Happy Feet, to following her dream. There are painful moments and there are moments where you laugh out loud. Teruko shows so much strength, vulnerability, creativity, and incredible acting. I recommend this show to everyone: immigrants, Americans, and humans. Also, Titi the dog is a gifted amd disciplined actor.... full review
