It was personal and specific all while being universally relevant. I think I solidly cried through the whole show. It was a truly funny show all while breaking all hearts in the room wide open. What a gift Teruko is to the world.
What I didn't like
It’s completely perfect and worthy of love the way it is. Part of me wonders if I might have had a trigger warning about the level of violence discussed, but you know what, it really doesn’t need a warning. It’s resolved and wrapped up in the end in a way that can catapult any victim/survivor into hope of a better day for themselves.
My overall impression
Absolutely worth seeing. It was funny, fun, and whimsical and she really shows the bullshit of life who’s boss.
This was the funniest and most heart warming show I’ve ever seen exploring the topic of overcoming sexual violence and domestic violence survival.
I laughed VERYHARD and felt very seen with this raw and personal performance. Completely inspiring.
