Being all alone on stage, revealing her life’s somber moments, cannot be an easy undertaking. Yet Sigute Miller did so very effectively, with the use of a single prop (a chair), a few family snapshots, beautifully singing a few soulful Lithuanian songs, and, after linking the word to her story, her brilliant use of “blackouts”. It was as if she was sharing a one-on-one conversation with each audience member.
What I didn't like
Sorry – could not think of anything beyond the comments already mentioned.
My overall impression
Sigute Miller opened her heart and soul to the audience, providing us a deep understanding of what she has experienced throughout her life, both positive and negative. She brilliantly shared her own story of addiction and recovery, and how she was able to live two altered lives at once. Brilliant and powerful; honest and courageous; heartbreaking and extremely inspiring. Ačiū!
