What I liked

Sigute’s honesty about her life and addiction battles with depression, as well as her wild days, pulled me into not only her problems but the human aspect of how she chose to deal with each experience, both good and bad. Alcoholism is a deadly killer, and by the end of the play I was certainly inspired by how dedicated she has become to her sobriety and sharing her journey with others to inspire them to do that same.

What I didn't like

There were a few times when Sigute was so involved with her monologue that she kept talking, even in the dark. Not sure if it was the person handling the lights missing a cue or her missing the mark.

My overall impression

Sigute Miller shares her personal journey of recovery from her days as a youthful party girl through her many dark days as an adult alcoholic, often throwing caution to the wind and driving drunk with her young daughter in the car. Sharing aspects of her life through photos projected on the back wall, most often of the brother she lost at a much too young age (to whom she dedicated the show), Sigute ends each scene by calling out “blackout” which plunges her into darkness – the same type of blackouts she often experienced before finally getting sober and turning her life around.
