The writing is fantastic and the queer story being told is one we haven’t heard before. The actor who plays Lolo, Mod, has an especially memorable bearing and I can’t imagine anyone else in the role.
What I didn't like
The set is a bit ambitious for a Fringe show and the scene changeovers can slow it down a little, but consequently you can glimpse the show creator Maddox rushing in to assist.
My overall impression
Love Chicken is one of the queerest things I’ve seen at Fringe yet, and that’s high praise. Hear more about the show contrasted against other Fringe productions on the “Stages of Our City” podcast: http://stageraw.com/2022/06/08/podcast-stages-of-our-city-16-part-1/
