THIS is how you do an autobiographical solo show! Starting with the script, Jon Gentry's writing is lyrical and poetic, while also engaging and just plain fun; the opening lines put us on alert that we are listening to a well-studied and serious performer, who then quickly and playfully delves us into his upbringing. The story is exquisitely crafted, not just in hitting the high notes of his life, but in how the through thread lies subtly under the surface until blossoming at the end. And as a performer Jon deftly holds our attention moment to moment, the whole audience hangs on his every word. And I have rarely seen a solo show so well directed--Shinelle Azoroh's masterful crafting of the staging, prop use, music and Jon's performance i...

It was an impressive night of theatre. A plethora of moving images, moments of exciting character work ranging from a child all the way to college. It truly was a profound piece containing challenging/remember confrontations of critical moments that made Jon the person who he is today. Great use of the stage, along with various props at the ready, and an intimate, bonafide conversation with us. Well done. ...

What an amazing talent this beautiful man is and damn he can sing too. Jon takes us on a delightful journey through his life in which he plays all the characters, each one more believable than the last, with seamless transitions, life and truth. What an incredible one man show, was an absolute joy to be taken back to the 1990s with analogies and memorable t.v. sitcom references. We grow up with Jon within the very well told story. I felt like he was pitching the next big sitcom on Netflix to me. This could be the beginning of something big for Jon. It was certainly one of the most thought out, tightest solo shows that I have seen....

The writing is impeccable, the acting is superb, and the direction was so tight, getting all the important moments emphasized and expressed at the right time. Such an incredible experience, and can't wait to see where this show goes! ...
