The writing was comedic genius mixed with genuine vulnerability. Furthermore, Michael’s performance pulled me in as he navigated the audience through the trials and tribulations of his experience being gay and single. I laughed, I had my heart-strings pulled, I self-identified.
What I didn't like
Honestly, this was such a fine piece of work. I am not sure anything can be improved on. I was beyond impressed.
My overall impression
Dickin’ Around is an incredibly hilarious, poignant and heartfelt rendering of one man’s self-discovery. Very rare that you find the perfect blend of humor and pathos, but this piece of theater does so remarkably well. Michael Lyon’s talent knows no bounds.
